Anxiety Support

Anxiety, persistent worry, and chronic stress can affect far more than just how we think. For many people, anxiety shows up in the body too — through tension, fatigue, pain, sleep disruption, or a constant sense of being on edge. It can be exhausting, isolating, and deeply unsettling, particularly when you feel misunderstood or dismissed.


At The Barn, we take anxiety and its effects on both the mind and the body seriously. Supporting nervous system dysregulation is a specialist area of our work, and we help people every day to better understand their anxiety, build practical coping skills, and regain confidence in their ability to cope.


There is no single “right” way to approach anxiety. Different people need different levels of support at different times, which is why we offer three distinct pathways, depending on what feels right for you.

We know that overcoming anxiety can be a slow and intensive process, and although we don’t believe in quick fixes, our Emotional Resilience Retreat is designed to provide practical, day-to-day strategies for specific challenges many people find difficult. These include boundary setting, dealing with confrontation, people-pleasing, and emotional overwhelm. This can be a useful place to start if you're feeling unsure.

Anxiety Relief Retreats

Anxiety Relief Retreats

 Our Anxiety Relief Retreat offers a restorative space to pause, reflect, and understand what’s really happening beneath the surface of anxiety.

Blending psychology, nervous system science, and relaxation practices, this half-day retreat helps you explore how anxiety develops — and how you can gently guide your body and mind toward calm.


Through a combination of guided exercises, discussion, and simple techniques, you’ll discover practical ways to manage worry, ease tension, and begin restoring a sense of safety within yourself.

What To Expect

 This retreat weaves together education, science, practice, and reflection to help you build insight and confidence in managing anxiety day to day.


Together, we’ll explore:

🌿 Cognitive Tools — simple, structured ways to challenge anxious thoughts and reframe unhelpful patterns.


🌿 Connection & Reflection — quiet time to rest, enjoy refreshments, and connect with others who understand anxiety from the inside out.

Our Approach

Our approach combines the latest findings from neuroscience, psychology, and holistic health to offer a truly integrated perspective on anxiety.

We draw from cognitive behavioural therapy, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation techniques — as well as mindfulness and relaxation practices — to create a calm, evidence-informed environment for learning and recovery.


You won’t find quick fixes or generic advice here. Instead, this retreat offers thoughtful, grounded guidance that bridges science and compassion — helping you leave with insight, practical tools, and a renewed sense of calm.

Group Coaching for Anxiety & Worry

Group Coaching - Living Well With Anxiety and Worry

Living with anxiety and persistent worry can feel exhausting and isolating. Many people understand what anxiety is, but struggle to know how to work with it day to day, especially when reassurance alone no longer helps.


Our Group Coaching for Anxiety & Worry programme offers structured, supportive guidance over time. Through a combination of explanation, practical exercises, and reflection, you’ll learn how anxiety works, why worry persists, and how to respond more skillfully when it shows up.


This is a small, in-person group coaching programme designed for people who want to actively engage with anxiety rather than simply manage it alone.

Session-by-Session Breakdown

Session 1: Anxiety as a Physiological Process


Understand how anxiety and worry operate in the body and the mind. Learn to identify your own anxiety patterns, triggers, and unhelpful behaviours, and begin to make sense of why anxiety can feel so convincing.


Session 2: Is Your Brain Getting It Wrong?


Learn how anxious thoughts and predictions develop. Practise practical strategies to separate fact from fear, identify unhelpful thinking patterns, and reduce the power worry has over decision-making.


Session 3: It’s Not All in the Mind – It’s in the Body Too!


Explore the physical side of anxiety. Learn how fear can be maintained through bodily sensations and practise techniques to reduce fear responses and increase feelings of safety.


Session 4: Completing the Anxiety Cycle


Discover how anxiety cycles can remain unfinished and fuel ongoing symptoms. Learn how to work with anxiety rather than fight it, allowing the cycle to complete safely and without panic.


Session 5: Make Friends With Your Mind


Learn how to prepare your mind for challenging situations. Practise techniques that help reduce anticipatory anxiety and build confidence in your ability to cope when worry arises.


Session 6: Keep the Ball Rolling


Focus on maintaining progress after the programme ends. Learn how to handle setbacks, manage slip-ups, and develop a personal framework to stay on track when anxiety returns.

  • 6-session small group coaching programme
  • Fortnightly sessions, held in person
  • 6:30–8:00pm at The Barn Wellbeing Centre
  • £240 for the full programme
  • Minimum of 3 participants | Maximum of 10


This programme works best for people who are willing to engage with the sessions and practise techniques between meetings. It is educational and skills-based and is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
