Who We Are

The People Behind The Barn

The Barn brings together people with experience across health, wellbeing, movement, psychology, coaching and complementary therapies.

Our work is built around two connected approaches: creating opportunities for rest, movement and everyday wellbeing, and providing structured support for people who want to make meaningful, sustainable changes in their lives.

Founded by Gemma Sizer and Kate Robbins, The Barn combines practical knowledge, evidence-informed approaches and personal experience with a team of skilled practitioners and facilitators.

Whether you're joining us for a yoga class, a restorative retreat or a programme designed around a particular challenge, you'll find people who care about what they do and the experience you have with us.

Our Founders

Gemma Sizer

Co-Founder | Holistic Wellbeing Specialist | Movement & Wellbeing Coaching

Gemma brings extensive experience in yoga, therapeutic movement, bodywork and holistic wellbeing, combining physical practices with an understanding of stress, lifestyle and the mind-body connection.

Her qualifications and training span yoga therapy, Pilates-based movement, breathwork, meditation, massage and complementary therapies. She is also currently studying Health and Wellbeing Coaching, developing her work around behaviour change and sustainable wellbeing.

At The Barn, Gemma leads our movement and restorative wellbeing experiences, contributes to the development and delivery of our retreats and offers personalised individual support.

Her approach recognises that everyone's starting point is different. Whether someone wants to improve mobility, rebuild confidence, manage stress or establish healthier routines, Gemma draws on her range of skills to create an experience around their individual needs.

Her six-session personalised wellbeing programme brings these approaches together, providing practical support that can evolve as each person progresses.

Kate Robbins

Co-Founder | Health & Wellbeing Coach | Programme Development

Kate brings together a multidisciplinary background in physical health, wellbeing, coaching and education, with a particular interest in psychology, behaviour and the relationship between physical and mental wellbeing.

Her work focuses on helping people understand the challenges they're experiencing and develop practical strategies for moving forward.

Drawing on her experience in health coaching, movement, breathwork and cognitive behavioural techniques, Kate develops and facilitates The Barn's transformational retreats, workshops and coaching programmes.

Her approach combines understanding with action: exploring why we think, feel and behave as we do, identifying what might need to change and developing realistic ways to make those changes sustainable.

Kate also offers individual coaching for those who would benefit from more personalised support.

Our Ethos

Find The Right Support For You

There isn't one approach to wellbeing that works for everyone.

Some people come to The Barn for a little time away from everyday life. Others are looking for practical support with something that's affecting their health, confidence or quality of life.

Our range of experiences, programmes and individual support reflects those different needs.
